Celtic fans furious after ‘diabolical’ Daizen Maeda footage re-anaysed
Celtic fans took to social media to express their frustration over Daizen Maeda’s role in Aberdeen’s equaliser in their 2-2 draw on Saturday (October 19).
The 26-year-old misplaced a pass, giving the ball directly to an Aberdeen midfielder allowing them to break and for Graeme Shinnie to score the equaliser on the hour mark.
Aberdeen couldn’t get anywhere near Celtic in the first half but whatever Jimmy Thelin said in his half-time team talk certainly worked.
Reo Hatate opened the scoring after a lovely pass from Kyogo Furuhashi before the Japanese forward got in on the act to put the home side 2-0 up just before the half-hour mark.
Thelin’s side burst out of the blocks with Ester Sokler getting the better of Liam Scales to score their first goal of the afternoon in the 50th minute before Shinnied bagged the equaliser just ten minutes later.
Brendan Rodgers had clearly seen enough, hooking Maeda off just five minutes after Aberdeen got their second goal.
Aberdeen thought they got the winner but Duk’s strike was ruled out after a VAR intervention ruled there had been a handball in the build-up.
