Celtic fans go berserk at ‘disgraceful’ Paul Tisdale footage on Sky Sports: ‘Absolute fraud’

Celtic supporters were fuming with Paul Tisdale’s appearance on Sky Sports during their 2-1 loss to Hearts on Sunday.

Following weeks of intense talks, Wilfried Nancy was finally unveiled as the new Celtic manager prior to his first game in charge against Hearts.

The ex-Columbus crew boss comes with much hope and promise, with former Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini calling Nancy a “fantastic” manager.

Yet, the Frenchman suffered a brutal defeat to the high-flying Jam Tarts in front of the home crowd, as Director of Football Operations Tisdale suffered an unfortunate moment on camera.

Tisdale falling asleep during Celtic’s defeat reflects dire times up in Glasgow

Under Celtic’s departed interim manager Martin O’Neill, the Glaswegian outfit enjoyed a respective resurgence to form, losing just one match in charge when he was at the helm.

The Northern Irishman simply stood in while a long-term successor was secured, although Nancy‘s start to life at Celtic Park got off to the worst start possible.

The Bhoys dominated possession against Hearts, yet were unable to turn their dominance into goals until the 93rd minute from Kieran Tierney’s strike.

The Jam Tarts played a calculated counterattacking game, which paid dividends, scoring two goals from just eight shots on goal.

However, the main focus off the pitch came when cameras panned to a dormant Tisdale in the crowd who was caught resting his eyes.

The Director of Football Operations seemed to wake from his slumber upon comments made from commentary, but his evident boredom with the 2-1 defeat does not bode well, keeping in mind he was one of the key members in appointing the Frenchman.

Celtic supporters were up in arms about seeing Tisdale asleep whilst in attendance, as they made several jokes on X, with one fan saying: “Clearly been working 24/7 to identify a player we might enquire about in January.”

Another fan added: “This guy is an absolute fraud.”

Wilfried Nancy’s tenure at Celtic off to a bad start as January transfer window becomes even more critical

It was certainly the worst way for the Frenchman to start off his new job in Scotland, but, of course, these are early days for the new Hoops boss.

The Bhoys next face a tricky test against Roma on 11 December in the Europa League as Nancy will come under the microscope once again.

Although, looking ahead to the upcoming transfer window, the 48-year-old will be crying out for reinforcements to give his side the best chance of winning silverware come the end of the season.

Sources told Football Insider that Celtic will likely raid the MLS in January to provide Nancy with some firepower, given his knowledge of the league.

Time will tell whether the ex-CF Montreal head coach will deliver success in Glasgow, but he surely needs to be backed in the next transfer window after an underwhelming display against Hearts.
