‘Delighted’ – Celtic fans gloat on Twitter as Christie scores in Aberdeen win v Rangers

By Danny Wright

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to gloat as loanee Ryan Christie scored for Aberdeen in their 2-1 win against Rangers at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old was returning to the side after being excluded in the Friday loss against the Hoops due to is ineligibility to play against his parent club.

His goal put Aberdeen 2-0 up with a header in the second half and the Bhoys fans were delighted to see one of their on-loan players find the net against their bitter Glasgow rivals.

It was the fifth time that Christie scored in Derek McInnes’ side during his loan spell after he was snapped up on a temporary deal in January.

Such the rivalry between Celtic and Rangers, the Hoops supporters were over the moon to see him score and here is a selection of their tweets:

Christie has made just 13 appearances for the Bhoys in all competitions since he signed from Inverness in 2015.

He was scarcely used by Rodgers in the opening half of this season, playing just six times in both the Scottish Premiership and Champions League qualifiers.

The nine-times Scotland Under-21 international hasn’t been the most key player in McInnes’ squad, but his goal against the Light Blues is sure to live long in his, and the Celtic fans’, memories.

In other Celtic news, Moussa Dembele has made a bold claim about next season’s European campaign.
