Celtic fans react on Twitter to Forrest display against Inverness

Celtic fans were blown away on Twitter after watching James Forrest tear Inverness to shreds from the right flank.

The Hoops secured a comfortable 6-0 win in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup, thanks to goals from Mikael Lustig, Kieran Tierney, Scott Brown and a hat-trick from Moussa Dembele as they progress into the quarter finals.

Forrest, 25, used his explosive pace on the right flank to full effect against the Caley Jags, supplying three wonderful assists for two of Dembele’s strikes as well as a superb cross for Tierney.

His first saw him produce a magnificent first touch to dumbfound left-back Carl Tremarco, before setting up Dembele who squeezed the ball past Owain Fon-Williams.

In the second half, Forrest twisted and turned before reaching the byline and hanging a ball to the back post for Dembele to power a header home before doing the same for Tierney late on.

Celtic fans reacted on Twitter to the Scotland international’s mesmerising performance, as he put Inverness to the sword with an almost perfect display at Celtic Park.

Forrest, who signed a new three-year deal on Parkhead last summer with his future in doubt, has been in wonderful form under Brendan Rodgers this season.

Making 35 appearances in all competitions, Forrest has supplied 11 assists and scored six goals of his own against the likes of Hearts, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.
