Celtic have found ‘perfect’ striker who’s ready to replace Kyogo Furuhashi – expert

Frank McAvennie has insisted Celtic have found the perfect replacement for Giorgos Giakoumakis in Hyeongyu Oh.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Parkhead is a “wonderful environment” for Oh to develop as a player.

South Korea boss Jurgen Klinsmann was in attendance at Rugby Park last weekend (16 April) to watch the 22-year-old in the Celts’ 4-1 win over Kilmarnock.

As quoted by the Daily Record (20 April), Klinsmann said South Korea international Oh is in the “perfect environment” to take his career to the next level.

McAvennie wasn’t surprised by the German’s comments.

I have seen Klinsmann make remarks about Celtic before,” he told Football Insider.

The stadium, the atmosphere, he thinks it is a wonderful environment and his player is coming through that.

He will get game time, he is another example of the manager. Giakoumakis left and he brought Oh in and I think he is a better version. He is quicker and is only young.

If Kyogo gets injured I do not have a problem with him playing up front. I think he will get a lot of game time. You can see he is eager to get on the score sheet and he wants to do well.

Coming on in front of 60,000 every week is not a bad way to be brought into it. Nothing is going to phase him if he goes anywhere else.
