Celtic have new advantage over Rangers after Kyogo Furuhashi latest – expert
Frank McAvennie isn’t worried about Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi missing the League Cup final against Rangers.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said the Gers defence won’t know how to handle Hyeon-Gyu Oh if he fills in for Kyogo next weekend (26 February).
Furuhashi was replaced in the first half of the Celts’ 5-1 victory over St Mirren on Saturday (11 February) with a shoulder injury.
As relayed by footballscotland (14 February), Kyogo is said to have missed training on Monday (13 February) and is unlikely to feature in the game against Aberdeen on Saturday (18 February).
The striker’s replacement, Oh, scored his first Celtic Park goal in the Scottish Cup victory over the Saints.
When asked if Oh will be ready to fill in for Kyogo against Rangers, McAvennie told Football Insider:
“This next game will get him used to what is expected of him.
“I liked him. I was at Tannadice a couple of weeks ago when he came on. The fans loved him and he played to the crowd. He just did what everyone expected, he chased his socks off.
“He got his first goal at Celtic Park which is always great.
“I won’t be too disappointed because I think he would give [Ben] Davies and [Connor] Goldson a bit of a game. But I hope that Kyogo is fit.

“If he does not play for the next two weeks or so he might be ok and we could get a half out of him.
“Rangers do not know much about Oh so they do not know how to handle him. They know how to handle Kyogo so that could go in our favour.“
