Celtic hero amazed by ‘incredible’ Ange Postecoglou after spotting ‘something I’ve never seen’

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is revolutionising Scottish football with ideas many have never seen.

That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest success at Parkhead.

Celtic briefly extended their lead at the top of the Premiership to six points when they beat Ross County 4-0 on Saturday (19 March).

The Hoops’ lead was pegged back to just three points after Rangers overcame Dundee 24 hours later.

However, the Bhoys remain top of the table and face their Old Firm rivals in the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a domestic treble still possible.

McAvennie insists Celtic’s success this season is down to tactical tweaks he has never seen before.

“Some of the things Postecoglou does, I’m still getting used to,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It is so different to what we have been doing over the last few years.

“I’m still getting used to the whole second striker thing. You sometimes get Ralston or Taylor popping up where a centre-forward should be.

“I can’t get my head around it but it’s working, which is the main thing of course.

“I would have been delighted if Celtic just challenged for the title this season.

“What Ange is doing is remarkable because we are playing so well. He does all these tactical things we haven’t done before.

“It’s just incredible what he’s doing. Some of the things, I have never seen before.”

Celtic are next in action against Rangers in the premiership on 3 April.

There are just two games left until this season’s split.

In other news, James McCarthy has been tipped to snub a summer exit from Celtic amid a ‘surprising’ claim.
