Celtic hero drops ‘big’ hint on Aaron Ramsey starting v Rangers after expert’s reveal
Aaron Ramsey can play deciding role in this weekend’s clash between Rangers and Celtic.
That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider
Ramsey, 31, scored on his last outing for Rangers (v Dundee, 20 March) before heading away to international duty with Wales.
The midfielder played no part in Wales’ game against the Czech Republic (29 March), sparking fears about his fitness ahead of this weekend’s Old Firm clash (3 April).
However, injury expert and Football Insider pundit Ben Dinnery told this site on Tuesday (29 March) Rangers “don’t need to worry” about Ramsey’s fitness ahead of Sunday’s game.
McAvennie insists a well-rested Ramsey can play a crucial role on Sunday.
“He’s an experienced boy, he’s played against the best. They are hoping he’s ready,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It was always going to take him a while to get up to fitness. He showed in the last game how good he is.
“Is he up there with Laupdrup and Gazza? No. But he’s a damn good player and he’s proven that.
“He played well against Austria so he’s coming into this game in good form.
“Rangers have a decent midfield but if Ramsey is fit I imagine he will start.
“If he’s on it, he can play a big part in this game and I’m sure he wants to play in an Old Firm game at Ibrox as a Rangers player.”

Rangers will go level on points with Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership with victory at Ibrox this weekend.
Each side has one Old Firm win to their name this season.
