Celtic idol issues ‘incredible’ Ange Postecoglou claim
Frank McAvennie has hailed the progress Ange Postecoglou has made so far at Celtic.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Postecoglou is deserving of his spot on FourFourTwo’s top 50 world managers.
As reported by FourFourTwo (18 October), the Aussie boss was ranked 30th in the worldwide list, above the likes of Jose Mourinho and Luis Enrique.
The 57-year-old also finished above Glasgow rival Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The report said that the Green and Whites boss has become one of the “most thrilling” managers in Britain since his arrival at Parkhead last summer.
McAvennie has been impressed since the Aussie’s arrival.
“There is not getting away from how good he has been,” he told Football Insider.
“He came in on his own, we never had a team. There are so few players that are still there, the likes of [Greg] Taylor, [Callum] McGregor, [Stephen] Welsh, [Anthony] Ralston.
“It is incredible what he has done. He has got rid of players that had to go, Mikey Johnston he had to go. I think he has got a good team now.“
The Parkhead club looked very different when Postecoglou arrived last summer, after missing out on their tenth league title in a row to Rangers.

The former J-League manager rocketed the Celts back to the top of the Scottish Premiership and into the Champions League group stages.
The Bhoys are currently top of the Scottish top division and four points clear of rivals Rangers.
In other news, an ex-Fifa official has told Celtic and Rangers to ‘avoid real mess’ amid ‘dangerous’ claim.
