Celtic idol issues transfer verdict after Ange Postecoglou reveal
Frank McAvennie has insisted Celtic don’t need to make any more signings this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Hoops striker said Ange Postecoglou has earned the right to be trusted to sign players that he wants.
As quoted by The Scotsman (23 July), the Bhoys’ manager said his recruitment process has focused on strengthening the squad.

He added that a lack of depth last season put too much pressure on key players and led to a lot of injuries last season.
The Scottish champions kick off their Scottish Premier League campaign on 31 July.
Celtic confirmed (19 July) the signings of Aaron Mooy and Moritz Jenz as their sixth and seventh additions of the summer transfer window.
When asked if he thought Celtic needed to make any more signings before the end of the window, McAvennie told Football Insider: “I’m quite happy with the signings.
“Back-up goalkeeper, yes, and not only a back-up but someone who’s fighting for number one.
“I wanted a centre-midfield player and that, by all accounts, is where Aaron Mooy will fit in. To get into the international side and to get his caps, he’s a good player. We’ve got enough young boys in the midfield. We’ve got so many flair players going forward and we need players who are going to dictate play and I think Mooy is that.

“The other place they needed to fill was a centre-half. I don’t know much about Moritz Jenz but Ange has earned the trust of the fans to buy who he wants.
“We’ve got a left-back, a centre-half, a goalkeeper and a centre-midfield player. We don’t need much more than that, what we need now is to get people out the door.“
In other news, McLeish has said he ‘heard whispers’ Rangers tried to beat Celtic to Aaron Mooy deal.
