Celtic idol ‘laughing’ at Alfredo Morelos after Rangers source’s reveal

Frank McAvennie has insisted Alfredo Morelos does not deserve a new Rangers contract.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said some of the previous offers for Morelos “makes you laugh” and claimed no manager will want to sign him.

Last week (28 March), sources told this site that the Gers have not offered the 26-year-old a new contract even though his current deal expires in the summer.

On Monday (3 April), Football Insider revealed that Morelos does not have an agreement to join Galatasaray, despite multiple reports claiming a deal had been struck.

But, the Turkish side do have an interest in the striker and other clubs in Turkey, as well as sides in France, Holland and Spain are all believed to be keen on the Colombian.

McAvennie claimed there’s no chance Morelos will get a move in the summer.

If I was a manager I would not take him,” he told Football Insider.

There is no doubting his talent but I just look at his hunger and his appetite and he does not look like he is going to do it, he does not look as if he wants to do it.

He does not look as if he wants to play for Rangers, some of his body language is ridiculous. Letting him go for nothing is ridiculous, no club should let that happen to their players.

Rangers

They could have got a couple of million for him. It makes you laugh what people were going to offer for him. They should have let him go in January.

He will not get another contract, he has not done enough. But it is Rangers so you never know what they are going to do but no other club is going to sign him.”
