Celtic idol: Rangers star Ryan Kent ‘deserves’ big wages after source’s transfer reveal
Frank McAvennie has claimed Rangers winger Ryan Kent is worth “more than £30,000-per-week”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said Kent’s lack of consistency will be his “downfall” in his footballing career.
The 26-year-old is out of contract this summer and is set to depart the Ibrox club for free at the end of the season.
According to the Sun (16 May), Turkish side Fenerbahce are willing to offer Kent a deal worth £30k-per-week.
Despite reports that the Gers winger had already agreed to join the Turkish giants on a pre-contract deal, Football Insider revealed (16 May) that the club have not yet secured an agreement, nor are talks advanced.
Fenerbahce have been in contact with the playmaker and discussions have taken place over a potential move but Kent is yet to make up his mind over where his future lies.
When asked if Kent is worth £30k-per-week, McAvennie told Football Insider: “He is worth whatever somebody is wanting to pay him.
“He is a talented boy but I do not know if someone would pay him that and he will not get it if he does not perform.

“He should be getting more than that because in today’s market he is a good player, he just does not do it enough and that will be his downfall.
“Does he deserve £30k per week? Yeah. If he plays he should be getting a lot more than that because he is that good of a talent.“
