Celtic have made a move to sign Tottenham attacker Jack Clarke after learning he will be allowed to leave this month, Football Insider can reveal.

The Scottish champions are keen to beat multiple English Championship clubs to landing the winger, 19, for the rest of the season.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club have registered their interest in signing Clarke on loan.

This comes after they sold Scott Sinclair to Preston North End on Wednesday night and continue talks to sell Lewis Morgan to new MLS side Inter Miami on a permanent deal.

There is widespread interest from English second-tier outfits in Clarke, who spent the first half of this season on loan at Leeds United.

Middlesbrough, Fulham, Swansea City and Nottingham Forest are also keeping close tabs on the dazzling wide man.

Clarke joined Tottenham last summer being before loaned straight back to boyhood club Leeds.

Jose Mourinho has had a good look at Clarke in training over the last two weeks and decided it would be best for his development for him to go out on loan again.

Spurs are keen for him to head to a club where he can secure regular game time.

Despite being fully fit, he made just three appearances for Leeds in the opening half of the campaign, two of which came in the League Cup.
