Celtic on course for £7.5m-plus windfall after ‘great’ Kieran Tierney update – pundit
Alex McLeish has suggested Celtic could be in line for a “great windfall” if Arsenal cash in on Kieran Tierney this summer.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Gunners would want to “squeeze” as much money out of the 24-year-old as possible.
As reported by the Sunday Post (27 March), Real Madrid are preparing a £50million bid for Tierney after glowing reports from chief scout Juni Calafat.

The Sun reported in 2019 that Celtic agreed a 15 per cent sell-on clause when Arsenal signed the defender.
As such, the Hoops could be in line for a £7.5million windfall on top of the £25million the Gunners reportedly paid.
However, McLeish suggested Arsenal could demand more, thus handing the Bhoys an even bigger financial bonus.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s an absolutely terrific player. A product of the latest Scottish players who are playing in the highest league in the world.
“There’s quite an abundance of players playing there. You’ve got great players involved with Scotland as well.
“Tierney is one of these wonderkids. He’s not fussy, you see him on the pitch, he just gets on with his work.
“He’s quick, he’s assured, he has been a fantastic servant for Celtic, Scotland and now Arsenal.
“I think Arsenal will fight tooth and nail to keep him and maybe even try and squeeze more out of him.
“It’s a great windfall for Celtic. A good clause that they put in the contract definitely.”

A graduate of the Celtic youth ranks, Tierney played 170 times for the Bhoys before moving to north London.
He is contracted at Arsenal until 2026.
In other news, pundit claims Celtic could be making another ‘Jack Hendry’ transfer blunder.
