Celtic player ratings v Aberdeen: Senior player 5/10 in Parkhead win
COMMENT
Celtic moved eight points clear of Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a convincing 3-0 win over the Dons at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Brendan Rodgers made three changes to the side which defeated Partick Thistle, bringing in Olivier Ntcham, Jonny Hayes and Moussa Dembele.
Both sides came close to taking the lead – Mackay-Steven dragging a shot wide for Aberdeen then Sinclair missing a one-on-one for the Hoops.
The Celts did take the lead though in the 40th minute, a Mikael Lustig shot from the edge of the box deflected past his own goalkeeper by Dominic Ball.
The Hoops completely dominated the second-half, and proceeded to miss a host of chances, with Dembele and Sinclair guilty of missing some great chances.
The second goal eventually game in the 69th minute, Jonny Hayes taking advantage of a goalmouth scramble to score his first goal for the club.
Six minutes later Olivier Ntcham latched on to a poor Kenny McLean back-pass to make it 3-0.
It was a thoroughly convincing win for the Hoops who are not well clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
