Bitton has come in for a lot of stick this season and it seemed that would be the case again early on when he was caught dallying on the ball a couple of times.
It’s hard to forget that Bitton really isn’t a centre-back and some of the criticism is completely unjustified one a player who seems to be a bit of a scape goat.
The Israeli showed himself to be calm and composed as the game went on and at times he was absolute joy to watch when he was on the ball.
There are advantages to having a midfielder in your defence, just look at what Barcelona did with Javier Mascherano.
