Celtic player ratings v Hearts: Quartet get 9/10, one gets 4/10
Goalkeeper and defenders
Craig Gordon 4 – Had very little to do throughout the match as Celtic dominated both possession and territory, until a dismal mistake that saw Esmael Goncalves score from a tight angle with an effort that should not have found its way into the net.
Mikael Lustig 7 – Solid on the right side of defence when coming up against Hearts rookie Lewis Moore, but offered little going forward. Still looks like a centre-back at right-back.
Nir Bitton 9 – The Israel international continued to reinvigorate his Celtic career after a disappointing 2016-17 campaign, with an inch-perfect assist for Griffiths and a comfortable display at centre-back.
Jozo Simunovic 7 – Calm and assured at the back, looks like he is playing way beyond his tender age of just 22 years. Won his headers and was a threat in the opposition box from corners.
Kieran Tierney 8 – The 20-year-old star never seems to become boring to watch. He got forward on all occasions and was as heavily involved in Celtic’s attacks as he was in defence.
