Armstrong was in top form in the Old Firm derbies of last season, but had a surprisingly quiet outing on Saturday.
At times, the ex-Dundee United star was caught in possession and struggled to cope with the Gers midfield.
Olivier Ntcham was axed to be replaced by Armstrong, but Rodgers may revert back to the Frenchman for future big fixtures.
