Celtic pundit ‘sick’ of Rangers transfer news after Sky reporter’s claim

Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo will not let transfer speculation affect their performance for Rangers.

That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid an update on the duo’s futures.

Speaking to Give Me Sport (27 February), Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridges revealed he “expects” strong interest from Premier League clubs in the duo come the summer.

Aribo has starred under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Kent earned much praise for his recent performances against Borussia Dortmund.

Both players are under contract in Glasgow until the summer of 2023.

McAvennie insists there will be nothing for either player to think about until an offer comes in.

“I’m a bit sick of this now,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It used to happen when I was a player, I took no notice of it.

“You had people saying this team is interested or this team is interested until there is an offer there is nothing to talk about.

“If they are interested, they will come forward. Players won’t take any notice of this kind of thing.

“When the offer comes in, let’s talk. But most of this Rangers team have been linked with moves away but they are all still here.

“They could both be at Ibrox next season, they might not be.

“Kent has been linked with everyone for ages but he’s still here.

“Aribo has been playing brilliantly recently but I don’t think there was a solid approach in January.

“They won’t let it affect them, which is the good news for Rangers.”
