Celtic ‘ready to make Ben Doak promise’ as hunt for Liverpool starlet heats up
Celtic are set to step up their pursuit in a Liverpool talent as Brendan Rodgers begins to strengthen his attacking options.
Rodgers wants to invest in his Celtic squad, especially going forward amid the loss of Kyogo in January and a long-term injury to Jota.
Celtic also want to strengthen at centre-back, though Champions League qualification may dictate transfer plans as the Hoops need to overcome a play-off against Kairat Almaty of Kazakhstan.
Summer arrival Benjamin Nygren impressed against Aberdeen, as Celtic continued their perfect start in the Scottish Premiership last time out, and the 24-year-old has been one of eight new additions.
Liverpool winger could return to Celtic

Rodgers could bring back a former Celtic winger to further bolster his squad as the Glasgow club target Liverpool’s Ben Doak.
Doak came through the youth ranks at Celtic, and left the club for Liverpool in 2022 having made just two senior appearances.
According to the Daily Record though [14 August], Doak has been guaranteed to be a regular starter at Celtic Park if he returns.
Celtic will compete with Premier League club’s for the 19-year-old with Liverpool preferring that he moves on a loan deal.
Liverpool would want in excess of £20million, should Celtic want a permanent transfer.
Doak would aid Celtic problem

Football Insider Verdict
It is clear from the first two league games of the season that Celtic need another winger in their ranks.
Yang failed to take his opportunity against St Mirren and was dropped for the trip to Aberdeen, and replaced by 34-year-old James Forrest.
Rodgers cannot continue on the right flank with those two options as regular starters, so the arrival of Doak would be a major boost.
The Scotland international was unable to show his full potential in his last spell at Celtic before heading to Liverpool, and with competition for places fierce at the Reds, Doak needs to kick start his career again.

A pacey winger whose direct on the ball, Doak would bring the attributes needed to thrive at Celtic.
More firepower and creativity is still needed to be able to compete in the Champions League though and Celtic should still be busy up until the transfer deadline.
