Celtic set for double exit after Ange Postecoglou latest – pundit

Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic may only lose two players this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender insisted that it all boils down to whether Ange Postecoglou remains at Parkhead next season.

As quoted by The National (31 May), the Hoops boss expects the club to be heavily tested this summer by incoming offers for current players but is certain the plans already in motion will ensure seamless transition if required.

The likes of Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi have already been heavily linked with Premier League moves with Matt O’Riley also attracting interest ahead of the summer window.

But Hutton suggested that the Hoops will be able to hold on to most of their prize assets until next season.

You look at the likes of Hatate who had an outstanding season, O’Riley has done really well, Kyogo and [Daizen] Maeda,” he told Football Insider.

You can go through them all, they have got some real assets in there so I can’t see too many leaving.

You might get one or two but it seems like they have always got a back up plan for somebody to come in.

The big thing for me is will the manager stay? If a team like Tottenham comes calling it is very difficult to turn it down.

Celtic

Manager Postecoglou has emerged as the frontrunner for the vacant manager’s job at Tottenham after another impressive season in Glasgow.

But the 57-year-old has refused to commit himself to Celtic or Tottenham as he prepares for talks with the London club.
