Kristoffer Ajer has instructed his agent to negotiate with interested clubs as he paves the way for a big-money Celtic exit, Football Insider understands.
The giant Norwegian defender is keen to him what his suitors like Leicester City and AC Milan have to offer this summer.
A source with knowledge of Ajer‘s situation has told Football Insider that he has not made up his mind definitively to leave Celtic but is edging closer to pushing for an exit.
This site revealed last month that Celtic chiefs are preparing for Ajer to quit this summer.
Celtic have made a number of attempts to tie him to a new deal, but he has rejected them, including an offer worth up to £25,000-a-week.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is a big admirer of Ajer and played a crucial role in his development during his three years as manager of the Scottish giants.
Ajer has developed impressively over the last 18 months and established a strong centre-back partnership with Christopher Jullien in the current campaign.
Since signing for Celtic in January 2016, the 6ft 4in defender has made 129 appearances for the club and provided excellent value for the £550,000 transfer fee.
Remarkably, 49 of those came this season before football’s suspension on 13 March.
Ajer has a Celtic contract that runs until the summer of 2022.
The Scottish club’s hopes of securing a mammoth fee for the defender are likely to be considerably affected by the coronavirus pandemic that is causing financial chaos in football.
