Celtic star named in SPFL team of the week after St. Johnstone demolition

Moussa Dembele has been named in the Scottish Professional Football League team of the week after Celtic beat St. Johnstone 5-2 on Sunday.

The young forward bagged an impress hat-trick for his side as the Scottish giants demolished St. Johnstone with goals coming from Liam Henderson and Scott Sinclair also.

Dembele has been in fine form for his team since joining from Fulham in the summer and his brilliant display at the weekend brought him some positive recognition.

The Frenchman was named in the SPFL’s team of the week which was announced on the official Twitter account, containing the likes of Ross County’s Scott Fox and Ryan Jack from Aberdeen.

Dembele, 20, has scored a brilliant 23 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’ side this campaign.

His goals have proven to be pivotal as the Hoops sit at the top of the Premiership table with a massive 27-point gap between them and second placed Aberdeen.

The much sought after striker will now be looking to continue his impressive run in front of goal with Inverness coming up next in the Scottish cup before the Hoops welcome sixth placed Motherwell to Celtic Park in the league.
