Celtic star Turnbull tipped to be out for two months after medical expert’s reveal – pundit
Alex McLeish has suggested David Turnbull may be out of action for longer than expected at Celtic after his crushing injury blow.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 22-year-old would take time to get back to full speed once he gets back running.
Football Insider injury expert Ben Dinnery revealed last week (22 December) he expects Turnbull to be missing for eight weeks after a serious hamstring injury.

The midfielder was forced off in the 2-1 Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian on 19 December.
McLeish acknowledged Turnbull could be back training in early February.
However, he suggested it could be a little longer before he returns to the starting XI.
“Getting back and hitting the ground running as soon as you come back from an injury is one of the hardest things,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“I found that as a youngster when you got a wee injury and you’re out for those eight weeks. Coming right back into it, you find you’re off the pace a wee bit.
“It’s much improved nowadays with the arrival of the coaches, the science team and getting the players back to the levels that they need.
“But at the end of the day, the best thing to get you fit again is to play football matches. The better the level that you come back at and the sharper your return, the better.
“It gets you running again, it gets you moving. That’s the only thing about maybe not a long-term injury but the mid-term injuries.”

Turnbull has already played 34 times across all competitions for Celtic this season.
He is set to miss the Old Firm clash with Rangers and the Europa Conference League play-off ties against Bodo/Glimt.
