27-year-old must be axed: Three things we learned about Celtic from win v Dundee

Forrest is a must-pick on Saturday

James Forrest has been on a fantastic run of form in recent weeks – scoring a double in each of his last two games

The midfielder was the best player on the pitch last night and has really stepped up his performances since the return of Patrick Roberts from Manchester City.

Forrest’s work-rate is phenomenal and the 26-year-old has arguably been Celtic’s top performer so far this season.

Two well-taken goals against Dundee from an unfamiliar right wing-back role highlighted the player’s versatility as he’s largely over-shadowed the return of Roberts.

It’s almost unthinkable now that Forrest won’t be in the starting XI on Saturday lunchtime at Ibrox although Brendan Rodgers’ tactics could play a huge part in just where the Prestwick-born ace is deployed.

Whether it’s at right-wing or as a wing-back, Forrest is going to be key for the Hoops in the Old Firm clash as Celtic look to extend their lead over their bitter rivals to eight points after only seven games.
