27-year-old must be axed: Three things we learned about Celtic from win v Dundee

Time for Griffiths to step aside

Celtic

Leigh Griffiths has been a fantastic signing for Celtic since joining in 2014.

The former Hibs and Wolves striker has an incredible scoring record in the Hoops with 90 goals in 156 appearances but in the last few weeks he’s not looked himself in front of goal.

With Moussa Dembele back fit and Odsonne Edouard not really having had much of a chance to show what he can do it’s time for Griffiths to take a step back as he tries to recover his best form.

That’s not to say he should be cast aside and moved on, but a game or two on the bench could do the world of good for the 27-year-old Scotland international.

There will be plenty of opportunities as the season goes on for him to make his mark but so far this term, he’s a little bit off where he needs to be as Celtic push for a seventh successive title.
