Celtic tipped to make ‘big money’ on Jota and teammate after confirmed news – expert

Frank McAvennie has tipped Celtic to make “big money” on Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker suggested the two players will be sold in the future for sizeable profits.

On Friday (1 July), Celtic announced the signing of Jota on a permanent deal from Benfica, following a successful loan spell at Parkhead.

The Portuguese forward becomes Ange Postecoglou’s fifth signing of the transfer window.

He joins Alexandro Bernabei, Benjamin Siegrist and Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda.

When asked if the Hoops have any future big names already in the squad, McAvennie told Football Insider: “There are a few.

I think the boys in midfield. But are they ready to go down to the Premier League? Not yet. But in a couple of years, which is what you want from Celtic players, there’s a lot of talent in there.

Kyogo [Furuhashi] up front, the pace frightens any defender.

“I think [Josip] Juranovic is the most improved player for me this season. He’s come in and he makes it look so easy at right-back and at full-back. I know he likes to play in midfield but when the boy’s asked to defend he can defend really well.

“I’m glad Celtic have signed Carter-Vickers because he will go for big money. Celtic will make a lot of money out of Jota as well because that boy can play.

“There’s a few Celtic players that I think could move on, yet? No. In a couple of years? Yeah. The fans will accept that. Come in, do their bit for us, and make a lot of money. Can’t be better than that.
