Celtic tipped to ‘speed up’ new signing after medical expert’s crushing Turnbull news – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic will accelerate plans to sign a new playmaker in January after David Turnbull’s crushing injury blow.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Ange Postecoglou would push hard for reinforcements next month after losing several players this term.
Football Insider injury expert Ben Dinnery revealed last week (22 December) he expects Turnbull, 22, to be out for around eight weeks after suffering a serious hamstring injury.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun back in October after losing Tom Rogic to injury, Postecoglou confirmed he wants another attacking midfielder signed in January.
Hutton suggested Turnbull’s blow could “speed up” the Hoops’ recruitment plans.
“Obviously nobody wants to see one of your top performers out for so long,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“I think Rogic has come in for recent games and done really well.
“But for them moving forward, I think they would want to strengthen in that area. Obviously, Jota has done excellently well as well. I’m not too sure how long he’s out for at the moment.
“It could speed up the plans to try and bring somebody in. Then again, January’s a tough month to bring in your top targets.
“We’ll see how it works out. I’m pretty sure they will want to strengthen and those areas.”
Turnbull has scored nine goals and contributed seven assists in 34 appearances this season.

He is set to sit out some of the Hoops’ crunch games during his absence.
They include the Old Firm clash with Rangers and the Europa Conference League playoffs.
