Celtic tipped to trigger Oscar Gloukh’s release clause after ‘astronomical’ update – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Celtic will pay Oscar Gloukh’s release clause if they view him as a regular starter.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said £6million is an “astronomical” amount of money for a Scottish club to spend on a player.
On 27 October, Maccabi Tel Aviv confirmed that the 18-year-old has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2025.
According to journalist Raz Azmir, via Ron Dor (27 October), the contract contains a £6m release clause.
Earlier this month (17 September) the Daily Record reported that Ange Postecoglou is said to have a list of January transfer targets that includes the Israeli.
When asked if the Green and Whites would be willing to fork out for the midfielder’s release clause, Hutton told Football Insider: “Possibly.
“It really depends on outgoings as well, what the finances are looking like at this moment in time. £6m to spend for any Scottish team is astronomical.
“It is going to have to be a player that is going to come in and make a difference and obviously to play in the starting XI. There are a lot of ifs and buts in there but it really comes down to the finances and can they afford to bring in another player at that amount of money.“

Gloukh has made 14 appearances for Maccabi Tel Aviv across all competitions this season.
In those outings he has scored four goals and provided five assists.
