‘Celtic to agree multiple deals with English club’ after deal is done – expert

Celtic are forming a partnership with Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton insisted the Hoops want to help out Brown and fans could see more loan deals between the sides.

On 3 July, the Celts confirmed that 20-year-old Adam Montgomery has joined Fleetwood on loan for the 2023-24 season.

The left-back has spent the last two seasons on loan with Aberdeen and St Johnstone and now heads to England to continue his development.

Hoops legend Scott Brown took charge of the League One club last year in his first full managerial job.

In his first season at the club, Brown guided them to the fifth round of the FA cup, the furthest run in the club’s history.

His side also finished 13th in the third division and comfortably clear of the relegation zone.

When asked if Brown’s relationship to Celtic played a part in Montgomery’s transfer, Hutton told Football Insider:Absolutely.

Scott Brown will be in contact whenever he needs with the Celtic backroom staff.

He obviously knows Brendan Rodgers really well, John Kennedy, these kinds of guys. He knows the young footballers that are there, especially the talented ones.

I think Celtic would like to help him out and I think that is something that could possibly grow in the future and we could see more loan deals with the younger players to Fleetwood.

It is a win-win, Scott Brown gets a young, talented player and Celtic get him out the door to go and get experience.
