Celtic to bank multi-million Jeremie Frimpong windfall after source’s ‘huge’ reveal
Celtic are set to bank a multi-million-pound windfall if Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong moves on this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old, who has been a star performer for the Bundesliga leaders this season, will be available via a £35million release clause in the summer window.
Celtic sold the right wing-back to Leverkusen for a reported potential fee of £11.5million in 2021.
As part of the deal, it is believed they will receive 30% of any profit made on the Netherlands international when he leaves the German club.
The Hoops could therefore bank around £7million if his release clause is met this summer – another huge profit on a player they paid Man City just £350,000 for in 2019.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Frimpong is the subject of “huge” interest from Premier League clubs ahead of the off-season.
He has managed 11 goals and 11 assists from the right flank for Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen this season.

The 23-year-old has made 29 starts in 34 total appearances this term with the German side still able to win a treble this season.
Frimpong won a domestic treble with Celtic in the 2019-20 campaign and turned out 51 times for the Glasgow giants in total.
