Celtic to sell club ‘favourites’ for ‘big’ money this summer after confirmed news – expert

Frank McAvennie will be “happy” to see players leave Celtic this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker insisted he is “happy” to trust Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the squad this summer.

As quoted by the Daily Record (19 April), the Celts boss said his side already have “plans in place” for areas that they want to strengthen but the club are aware that they may have to be responsive if players leave.

On 9 April, Football Insider revealed that Liel Abada is wanted by multiple Premier League clubs amid tensions with Postecoglou and could be one of the players to leave in the summer.

According to Sky Sports (17 April), Dutch club Ajax are positioning themselves to be in the hunt for the winger this summer and have been monitoring his situation in Glasgow.

Sources told this site (8 April), that Matt O’Riley is attracting serious interest from Premier League clubs and the Hoops are preparing for bids ahead of the summer window.

McAvennie insisted Celtic fans should be prepared for exits at the end of the season.

I think knowing Ange there will be people going out,” he told Football Insider.

He has been so honest with the fans, some favourites will leave to get other people in.

Celtic

Everyone will go on about it all the time, Kyogo [Furuhashi] is going here, O’Riley is going somewhere, Abada is going to Ajax. Every club has got their price for everyone and Celtic is no different.

But if a player wants to stay and they are in Ange’s plans then they will stay. But if a big offer comes in and they want to go, I do not think he will stop them. I am quite happy to let him get on with it.
