Celtic transfer news: McAvennie fumes after insider’s reveal – ‘someone hasn’t done their job’
Celtic should have agreed a price for Cameron CArter-Vickers before confirming his loan deal.
That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on the defender’s future.
Carter-Vickers, 24, joined Celtic on loan in the summer of 2021 and has made 36 appearances for the club.

On Wednesday (9 March) Spurs Insider John Wenham told this site Tottenham’s asking price for Carter-Vickers has at least tripled across this season.
Tottenham will reportedly demand a fee of around £10million for Carter-Vickers in the summer.
If this is the case, McAvennie claims someone at Celtic has not done their job properly.
“I would have thought a price would be agreed during the loan talks,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If it hasn’t then someone at Celtic hasn’t done their job. You can’t have someone coming up, impressing, then the price goes up.
“You can’t have that so if a price hasn’t been agreed it is a massive mistake.
“He’s been brilliant and I would like him to stay around so hopefully something can be arranged.
“We haven’t had too much news about that up here so I can only hope it’s not true.”

Carter-Vickers has previously spent time on loan at English clubs such as Bournemouth, Luton Town and Stoke City.
He has only made five senior appearances for Spurs after coming through the club’s academy.
