Celtic have been punished with a fine of €10,000 by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) after a fan ran on the pitch during the Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain and tried to attack Kylian Mbappe, it has been confirmed.
Hatton was sentenced in court to a 160-hour community payback order and was banned from entering any stadia in Britain for the next four years.
Another Celtic fan, who punched Hatton in the head as he was being led from the Parkhead pitch, admitted assaulting Hatton last week.
UEFA’s CEDB met last week and have confirmed they have fined the Glasgow side for the 13th time in six years – 12 of which have been as a result of fan conduct – in an update released on UEFA’s official website.
The Hoops were found to have breached Article 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been fined by UEFA over the conduct of their supporters during September’s clash at Celtic Park after sections of seats were damaged by fans of the mega-rich side.
The CEDB levied a fine of €5,000 against PSG for “acts of damage” which is also covered by Article 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
Since November 2011 Celtic have had to cough up over £130,000 in fines to UEFA for fan misbehaviour.
