Celtic v Rangers: Kenny issues ‘massive’ title claim after McGregor update

Celtic will win the Scottish Premiership if they beat Rangers on Sunday.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about this weekend’s crunch clash.

Celtic travel to Ibrox on Sunday (3 April) looking to move six points clear at the top of the Premiership table.

The Hoops won February’s Old Firm 3-0, blowing Rangers away with a flurry of goals in the first half.

Kenny claims a repeat of that result could happen on Sunday.

“I’m having Celtic, I think they will go there and win,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s their title to lose at this point and if they do win at Ibrox there is no losing it from there, for me. It’s winner takes the title which is great for the neutral.

“The wheels would have to properly fall off. I think they will go out there with the mentality of ‘we will win the title if we win today’.

“It’s a massive game. They can actually lose it and stay top of the league.

“That makes it a must-win for Rangers and the mental blow of losing at home and going six points behind could be too much for them.

“I think Celtic will do it and I think that gives them the title. They were so good in the last Old Firm.

“I think they could turn up and do it again, that’s no disrespect to Rangers. That’s just how I see it.”

In other news, one Rangers star has been tipped for a new role against Celtic after a fresh Ibrox twist.
