Celtic want to sign boyhood Rangers fan who celebrated famous Old Firm victory on social media
Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Motherwell star Elliot Watt.
Celtic and Rangers have both struggled to reach their previous heights this season, with Hearts leading the way in the Scottish Premiership as it stands.
The Hoops are in need of some attacking firepower in the January window to help Martin O’Neill guide his side to another Scottish Premiership title after his second return as interim boss earlier this month.
O’Neill is yet to oversee a new addition to his squad since his 5 January return, with Julian Araujo loaned in from Bournemouth while Wilfried Nancy was still in charge.
Celtic have now set their sights on signing in-form Motherwell midfielder Watt this month, but their fans are unlikely to take kindly to his potential arrival due to his clear Rangers links.

Celtic want to sign Rangers supporter Watt as he shines at Motherwell
The 25-year-old has registered four goals and three assists in 27 appearances for Motherwell this season, while he recently won the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month award for some standout form throughout December.
A new report from Sportsboom claims that Watt is being targeted by Celtic, alongside fellow title chasers Rangers and Hearts, as they each weigh up an approach for his services this month.
As per Ibrox News, Rangers fans recently uncovered an old social media post of Watt’s from 2016, in which he displayed his support for them before a Scottish Cup semi-final victory over Celtic at Hampden Park.
The two clubs’ rivalry is one of the most intense in world football, and many Hoops fans may well be opposed to his arrival, given that he seemingly grew up supporting the Gers.
Celtic and Rangers are also battling it out for Kieron Bowie deal
The nature of the Old Firm clubs’ dominance in Scotland means they are often in the market for similar players, and that remains the same this season, even though they have both struggled on the pitch.
Football Insider recently revealed that Rangers and Celtic are both interested in Hibernian striker Bowie, who has scored eight goals in 21 Premiership matches this season.

Wolves have also been linked to Bowie, while he is also wanted by several English Championship clubs, so his signature is not set to be easy to come by this month.
Both Old Firm sides are in real need of quality additions to their respective squads, and whoever comes out on top of the pursuits of either Watt or Bowie could well hold the upper hand in the race to beat Hearts to the title this season
