Celtic ‘will have bigger budget’ next year after ‘brilliant’ £88m reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Celtic “are in a really good place” after their accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022 were published.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers and Scotland defender said the Hoops “will have a bigger budget next season” with the incoming Champions League money.
In a statement (20 September), chairman Ian Bankier revealed last season’s revenue to be £88.2million – a £27.4m increase on the previous year.

The club boasted profit before taxation of £6.1million.
The Hoops are expected to boast even better revenue for this campaign because of their participation in the Champions League group stages.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Celtic’s financial statement, Hutton said: “It is brilliant news for Celtic.
“Whether it be players transfers or new contracts, they will have a bigger budget next season because of the Champions League. There will be a cash injection from that.
“Celtic are obviously in a really good place at this moment in time. The recruitment has been really good as well.

“The money that they have spent they are getting value for. Ange Postecoglou is getting the best out of the players that are coming in.
“The likes of Jota will be sold on for millions in the future. When you factor in the Champions League money as well… Everything is looking rosy. They are playing good football under the manager as well.”
In other news, a Celtic idol has claimed Ange Postecoglou will be ‘delighted’ after Kyogo Furuhashi development.
