Celtic fans will love what Ally McCoist said about ‘tremendous’ Haissem Hassan
Egyptian sensation Haissem Hassan has emerged as a Celtic transfer target in recent days and not even Ally McCoist could hold back his praise of the winger after his performance against Argentina.
The winger emerged was one of the stars of the show on Tuesday as Egypt were narrowly knocked out by the World Cup champions in the round of 16.
The Real Oviedo star picked up an assist for the North African side’s second goal and was easily one of the best players on the pitch.
Watching the game on ITV, even McCoist was impressed, with the former Rangers star hailing Hassan as “tremendous”.
The Hoops have reportedly placed a bid of around £3.5million before the round of 16 match for the 24-year-old, which has since been knocked back by Real Oviedo.
The winger is now set to return to Real Oviedo after Egypt’s controversial defeat to Argentina as they prepare for life back in the second tier of Spanish football.

Hassan has no doubt emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup.
The winger came into the tournament on awful form, as he picked up just three assists in 37 La Liga matches, and did not score a single goal.
Yet, against Argentina, he was fantastic, with some of the best defenders in the world having no answer to the attacker’s trickery.
His ball to Mostafa Ziko for Egypt’s second was simply fantastic, and helped to put the nation just minutes away from a famous victory.
Commentating on the match for ITV, McCoist was heavily impressed with Hassan for his work in the second goal, and said: “It is as good a counter-attacking goal as you will ever see anywhere.
“Salah plays it to the right-hand side, Hassan then looks inside and the run Zico makes is fantastic.
“The finish is brilliant. Hassan again, tremendous going down the right side, the run to get past your defender.
“What a goal.”

Celtic have been heavily linked with Motherwell’s Elijah Just this transfer window.
Like Hassan, the attacker also had a great World Cup and netted a brace in New Zealand’s opening match against Iran.
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that it is currently an open race for Just this summer, with Rangers also interested in the 26-year-old.
A move away from Fir Park is viewed as increasingly likely this summer, despite Motherwell qualifying for European football.
However, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to win the race for Just this summer transfer window with multiple other clubs also pursuing the star’s signature.
