Derek McInnes mocked by Celtic fans after making plea
Derek McInnes has once again been mocked by Celtic fans after the Rangers manager pleaded for further additions in his latest press conference.
The Gers have had an awful start to their new campaign and have failed to win any of their three opening fixtures.
Pressure is already starting to build on McInnes, with their 2-1 defeat to Hibernian on Sunday doing little to convince the Ibrox faithful that he is the right manager for the job.
However, things have continued to get worse for McInnes after it was confirmed that both Tuur Rommens and Youseff Chermiti have picked up injuries.
As a result, ahead of Rangers’ match against Jagiellonia Bialystok, the coach made it clear that he needs further additions.
Upon hearing this news, many Celtic supporters were in stitches, with the Gers already having an aggressive transfer window to date.
Celtic fans amused by Derek McInnes’ plea for more signings
Rangers have been extremely busy so far this transfer window.
The Old Firm club have brought nine new faces through the door to date, with Couhaib Driouech expected to become their 10th new signing in the coming days.
As a result, McInnes has helped oversee a massive overhaul of the squad over the past few months.
In comparison, Celtic have done little in the transfer window, with only two new faces coming through the door.
Yet, after just two games, the Hoops sit five points clear of their Old Firm rivals at the top of the table.
Therefore, when McInnes claimed to Sky Sports that “the squad could do with some help,” many Celtic fans were quick to mock the manager, reminding him how many signings he has already made this summer.
Who else could Rangers sign this summer?
Rangers have been heavily linked with Jayden Meghoma in recent days.
The Brentford left-back spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the Gers with mixed success.
However, reports have now emerged that Rangers are looking to re-sign the defender before the transfer window closes.
Meghoma made 29 appearances in the Scottish Premiership last season as the Old Firm side finished third, but rarely impressed on the field.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed upon over the coming weeks.
