Balasz Toth is open to joining Celtic in the next fortnight, sources have told Football Insider.

The Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper is attracting strong interest from the Bhoys, and a move to Celtic Park is understood to appeal to him.

Martin O'Neill's men may be able to offer the 28-year-old Champions League football for this season, and also intend to make him their undisputed number one.

Sources say that Toth is keen to play at the highest possible level with his next move, but also wants to go to a club that would guarantee him a number one spot.

The Hungary international is increasingly likely to leave Ewood Park in the coming weeks, after already rejecting several offers of a new contract from Blackburn.

Toth could depart the Lancashire outfit for free in June 2027, and his current club are well aware that they are running out of time to cash in on him.

Celtic to undercut valuation as club ready bid

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday that Celtic are hopeful of being able to strike a cut-price deal for Toth before their 3 September transfer deadline.

The gloveman is currently valued by Blackburn at the £4million mark, but the Glasgow giants are hoping that they may be able to undercut that fee.

Toth enjoyed a standout season for Blackburn last term, claiming the club's Player's Player of the Year award, but his form has prompted significant interest.

Bundesliga side Hamburg have shown a strong interest in him in recent weeks, while Italian outfit Udinese are understood to be preparing a bid for him.

Celtic have had the addition of a new goalkeeper as one of their top priorities this summer, but they are now running out of time to address the position.

Football Insider also revealed earlier this week that Celtic believe they can land Hajduk Split midfielder Niko Sigur for less than £4m.

The Canada international is into the final two years of his deal with the Croatian outfit, who are aware that they cannot command a "huge fee" for him.

Celtic are long-term admirers of the 22-year-old, and may finally be ready to move for him after losing Arne Engels to West Ham.

Sigur impressed during this summer's World Cup, and is also capable of providing cover at right-back if needed.
