Celtic’s updated stance on agreeing Brendan Rodgers deal after horror run
Celtic are still eager to tie manager Brendan Rodgers down to a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
Rodgers’ current deal runs out at the end of the season, and there is some doubt over his future with the Glasgow giants.
Celtic are on a poor run of form in the Scottish Premiership, currently sitting five points adrift of league leaders Hearts.
The Hoops have won just one of their last five games in all competitions, and fan discontent is growing with every bad result.

Talks ongoing between Brendan Rodgers and Celtic
As well as poor performances domestically, Celtic have just one point from their opening two games in the Europa League.
Sources say that despite recent form, the board are still in ongoing talks with Rodgers over a new deal.
The Northern Irishman has a lot of credit in the bank at Parkhead, meaning that the hierarchy at the club are not concerned about a couple of bad results.
However, the longer the situation drags on without a resolution, the more likely it is that Rodgers will depart at the end of the season.
Rodgers could quit Celtic
Football Insider revealed on 10 October that Rodgers is considering leaving Celtic due to the current situation at the club.

Now, the boss is growing increasingly likely to quit amid a feeling that things have gone stale as a result of the lack of backing and ambition from the board.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the turmoil on and off the pitch at Celtic could see Rodgers walk away.
Celtic fans have protested against the board as a result of their lack of ambition in recent years, but many are now also directing their anger towards their manager.
