Charlie Adam: Tottenham will come in for this 13-goal PL man in the summer

Charlie Adam believes Tottenham will “come in” for Crystal Palace winger Wilfred Zaha in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for his club this season, helping them avoid relegation under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce.

Zaha previously played for Manchester United and was Sir Alex Ferguson’s last signing before his retirement.

However, he only made four appearances for the Old Trafford club and made a permanent transfer back to Selhurst Park during the winter window of 2015.

Stoke City midfielder, Adam believes there will be “interest” for Zaha in the summer as he stated what Palace need to do in order to keep hold of their star player.

“He is one of their best players,” Adam told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio Five Live. “He’s reacted well to the disappointment of leaving Man United. He went back to Palace and has been excellent.

“I think somebody like Tottenham will come in for him, give him something different if Palace go and spend then that might keep. But there will definitely be interest for him in the summer.”

During his 113 matches in the Premier League, Zaha has only struck 13 goals and supplied 19 assists despite possessing high quality on the wings.

After a number of inconsistent seasons for Palace, Zaha has produced his best campaign, scoring seven goals and supplying 11 assists in 34 league encounters.

That includes opening the scoring at home to Hull City at the weekend, which resulted in Palace confirming their safety and their opponents suffering relegation.

Over the course of the season, Mauricio Pochettino has played either four at the back or deployed wing-backs, depending on which system he has favoured.

The likes of Kyle Walker and Kieran Tripper have been pacing up and down the right-hand side, with Christian Eriksen and Son-Heung Ming also deployed as wide midfielders.

In other Tottenham news, Stan Collymore has revealed that this Spurs duo are his favourite top-flight players.
