Chelsea backed to accept £30m Armando Broja bid after West Ham twist – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Chelsea to accept a “£30million” bid from West Ham for Armando Broja.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested Chelsea need the money to sign a striker of their own this summer.
The Athletic reported on Monday (18 July) that West Ham were close to reaching an agreement with the Blues for Broja for a deal worth an initial £25million, with a further £5million in add-ons.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday (19 July) that the two clubs are still in talks despite Thomas Tuchel claiming he expects the 20-year-old to stay at Stamford Bridge.
“If Chelsea see it as £30million going towards them signing a striker because they need one, then it might be good business,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I’m sure West Ham want to get it done permanently, get him in their ranks.
“It might be good for both West Ham and Chelsea and for the player. I can imagine players don’t like loans, they want to get settled at a club and sign properly.
“For West Ham he would be the perfect signing, for me. You can now look at different options.
“You can look at Jarrod Bowen on the right, [Michail] Antonio on the left. Or, swap them both around. Broja through the middle.
“I think you’ll definitely see Antonio coming from the wing next season if Broja starts.”

Broja has only played one senior game for Chelsea but signed a five-year deal with the club before joining Southampton on loan last summer (2021).
The Albania international scored six goals in 33 Premier League games for the Saints in 2021-22.
In other news, West Ham could land a £150million Declan Rice windfall amid a “massive” agreement.
