Chelsea backed to accept Raheem Sterling offer amid ‘big’ claim – pundit

Frank McAvennie has told Chelsea to “get rid” of Raheem Sterling.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker claimed Sterling has “lost his love of football” since joining Stamford Bridge.

On 15 January, sources told this site that the Blues are willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old after their ambush of Mykhailo Mudryk.

The club’s massive spending so far throws into doubt the future of some of the forwards already at the London club, including Sterling.

The forward signed a five-year deal at the Bridge last summer that includes the option of a further year but that will not stop the leadership from letting him leave this year.

When asked if Graham Potter’s side will be willing to let the England international leave, McAvennie told Football Insider:He does not look like the Raheem Sterling of old.

I do not know whether that is because he has got too much money, too many moves, he has lost the love of football.

I do not know what it is but he just does not look like the player who burst onto the scene all those years ago.

Chelsea

He has had some big, big moves. I just do not see the love of football in him anymore. He used to chase balls for fun. He does not do that now.

I would not be happy if he was at my club and not putting the effort in. I think it is a good move if he goes. I think they have got to get rid of him, he is dead wood for me.
