Chelsea, Bournemouth stars react to Strand Larsen’s cryptic Wolves message

Jorgen Strand Larsen caught the attention of multiple Premier League stars on social media following the Wolves striker’s first season in England.

The 25-year-old is expected to join Vitor Pereira’s team permanently this summer, possibly on a £23million deal if certain clauses are met [BBC Sport], much to the excitement of supporters.

After arriving from Celta Vigo last summer, the Norwegian international has gone on to record 14 goals and five assists in 38 appearances, helping to save Wolves from the relegation battle.

It is unknown exactly what Strand Larsen’s future holds, with no update yet from Molineux Stadium over the permanent deal, but fans will be hoping for some good news following his latest message to the fans.

Jorgen Strand Larsen could sign permanently for Wolves

Taking to Instagram (31 May), Strand Larsen wrote: “First season with Wolves is over. I’m thankful for all the ups and downs we’ve had together.

“Very proud that we turned it around, and for everything I’ve learned this past year. Enjoy the summer. I know I will…” with an orange heart and wolf emojis.

Former teammate Iago Aspas replied with a clapping emoji and “top,” while gaining likes from Chelsea‘s Nicolas Jackson and Bournemouth’s Evanilson, as well as Man United-bound forward star Matheus Cunha.

Football Insider verdict

Signing Strand Larsen on a permanent deal this summer would certainly soften the blow of losing Cunha to Man United, especially when those funds can help purchase a new, dynamic forward star.

Football Insider understands that Pereira is keen to be backed by the Wolves boardroom this summer, which will be of vital importance if the club are to avoid another relegation battle.

The Portuguese manager has won 12 of his 25 matches in charge since being appointed in December, quickly becoming a much-loved figure at the Molineux, and it’s easy to see why.

Football Insider also understands that Pereira is set for showdown talks with the Wolves board over his contract situation, seeing that his current deal expires next summer.

Unless the 56-year-old is given funds for the summer transfer window, it could be an incredibly difficult campaign next term, and the club will be back in a relegation battle quicker than realised.

While Wolves will need multiple signings to account for some of the losses in the coming weeks, Strand Larsen has showcased his talents in the top tier and is ultimately massively important.
