Chelsea could block Kai Havertz’s Arsenal move after source’s reveal – pundit
Chelsea could block Kai Havertz’s move to Arsenal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton was “shocked” to hear about the Gunners’ interest in Havertz.
On Monday (19 June), Football Insider revealed that Mikel Arteta’s side a strong favourites to complete a deal for the 24-year-old despite competition from Bayern Munich.
The Blues are believed to be asking for a fee of around £70million to part ways with the forward but Football Insider has learned that they will be forced to listen to reduced offers as they look to balance the books.
The Germany international has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge but looks set to be on the move this summer.
Hutton couldn’t believe Arsenal’s interest in Havertz.
“I was shocked when I heard it,” he told Football Insider.
“I was not really expecting it. There is no doubt he is a talented footballer but he is not a number nine. I do not think he is a focal point like a traditional number nine.
“He is still very young, he is going to get better under the likes of Arteta and I think you will see his full potential.

“Where he fits in to that team at this moment in time I am not 100 per cent sure. But, if you want to kick on and get to the next level, they need a stronger squad.
“He obviously makes them better but Chelsea selling to a rival, it is just a bit of a strange one.“
