Chelsea could regret accepting Raheem Sterling offer after source’s reveal – expert

Chelsea could regret selling Raheem Sterling as the Blues continue their summer transfer overhaul.

Speaking exclusively to Football insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that the Blues should avoid selling the England international and look to play to his strengths.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday (6 July) that Chelsea are very open to selling Raheem Sterling this summer.

Back in January, Football Insider revealed that the Blues were willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old in the winter window after hijacking Arsenal’s move for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Sterling put pen to paper on a five-year deal from Man City last summer which includes the option of a further 12 month, as the Blues spent £47.5million on the England international but are willing to let him depart as interest in his services picks up.

With a potential move on the cards, Agbonlahor believes Chelsea should keep the Englishman.

“I think it would be a mistake for Chelsea to sell him so early,” He told Football Insider.

“Raheem Sterling has shown throughout his career what a quality player he is, and I’ve seen his Instagram over the summer his put In the hard yards and is staying fit.

“Last season was tough for him, but it was for everyone and there was no structure.

“Mauricio Pochettino needs to decide whether Mykhaylo Mudryk or Sterling is the winger, and give his choice game time.

“Sterling scored so many goals at Man City because they played to his strengths.”
