Chelsea Exclusive: Noni Madueke given green light to work with his own coach
Chelsea gave Noni Madueke the green light to stay with his personal coach when he joined the club.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Saul Isaksson-Hurst, a long-standing former Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal coach of 18 years and who now runs his own business coaching Premier League stars, revealed that the Blues allowed him to maintain his professional relationship with the forward.
Madueke, 22, moved to Stamford Bridge from PSV Eindhoven for a reported £29million in January 2023 and has since made 35 senior appearances, bagging six goals and one assist.
Isaksson-Hurst, who still works regularly with the England under-21 star, revealed that one of Madueke’s “first conversations” with Chelsea was regarding his role as his personal coach.

“There have definitely been problems [with clubs letting me coach their players],” he told the Inside Track podcast.
“When Noni moved to Chelsea, one of the first conversations he had was about working with me.
“He has a personal physical coach as well and Chelsea were checking the loadings and said it was fine.
“Most clubs don’t like it, but it depends.
“In academy football, they sometimes ask why players use me.
“In reality, every player’s doing more.

“It’s changed recently because a lot of those guys know me and know what I do.
“Every man and his dog is a coach these days, but because I’ve been doing it for so long, I know a lot of people in the industry and they probably trust me a bit more.”
