Chelsea fans explode at ‘horrible’ Cole Palmer after what they saw v Brighton

Chelsea fans have exploded at Cole Palmer after his performance during their Premier League clash against Brighton at the Amex.

Enzo Maresca’s side were embarrassed away from home, after the Seagulls led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh.

Minteh then scored his second of the game in the second-half to seal all three points for Brighton and pile more pressure on the Chelsea manager.

However, many of the travelling fans vented their anger towards Palmer, who once again struggled to impact a game when it was going against his team.

Many feel that has become a trend in recent weeks, as the Blues have won just three of their last 11 games in all competitions, coinciding with his dip in form.

The England international has not been the only player given stick by the fans in recent weeks, with his fellow countryman Jadon Sancho also widely slammed online.

Palmer has collected 14 goals and six assists from 28 appearances so far this season, but has scored just three goals and has failed to pick up an assist in his last 11 games.

Against Brighton, the attacking midfielder finished the game without completing a key pass, failed to hit the target with a single shot, and gave possession away 13 times. [Sofascore]

It is performances like that which have led supporters to label him “greedy” and “selfish” in recent weeks as criticism of his displays continues to gather pace.

While many supporters have taken their frustrations out on the manager and his use of Palmer in recent weeks, they also feel the midfielder should not be immune from criticism.

Palmer is now the latest to be on the receiving end of the anger from the supporters, this time at the Amex, and they begun to make their feelings known.

Taking to social media following the game, supporters expressed their anger at the team’s main man, as they labelled him “embarrassing” and “terrible”.
