Chelsea fans savage ‘clown’ Jamie Carragher after what he said live on air
Chelsea fans have savaged and trolled Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for comparing the current team to Liverpool’s 2013-14 squad.
The Blues have emerged as unexpected title challengers and sit just two points behind the current Liverpool squad, but Enzo Maresca has publicly stated they’re not in the race for the Premier League this season.
On Monday Night Football, Carragher analysed the current Chelsea squad and revealed why he thinks they will fall short this season.
He said, “I still look at them and I don’t see a title-winning team there just because when I look at the goalkeeper and the two centre-backs.
“I know Liverpool didn’t win the league but if you remember the season with Brendan Rodgers when Liverpool came really close they came from nowhere, no one expected it, but they didn’t have European football.
“I know Chelsea do, but what Thierry said there, they can put their second team out and probably still win the competition so in some ways they haven’t got European football for the starting eleven. That is something that definitely puts them right in the race.”

Maresca and the Chelsea squad might be publicly denying their involvement in the Premier League title race this season, but that hasn’t stopped fans from believing it’s possible.
The Blues are the leading goal scorers in the division and have only lost twice this season which led to them savaging Carragher for his assessment of the team.
Fans questioned how he could comment on the situation after never winning the Premier League himself with others claiming he is “terrified” that his previous comments on the squad will stand out if they do win the title.
